Genny Ackermann, Assistant Principal

Genny Ackerman

It is a tremendous honor to serve as the Assistant Principal of Adelton Elementary! As I begin my 28th year in education, I am especially proud that every one of those years has been dedicated to serving the students, families, and staff of Bastrop ISD.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles across the district. I spent 20 years teaching at Cedar Creek Elementary, where I taught Kindergarten through Third Grade and also served as an intervention teacher. I then joined Emile Elementary, serving two years as the school counselor and four years as Assistant Principal. Most recently, I had the honor of helping open Adelton Elementary as Assistant Principal and am thrilled to continue serving our incredible school community.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from Southwest Texas State University in 1999. In 2012, I earned my Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University and later received my School Counselor certification through Region 4 Education Service Center.

Outside of school, my greatest joy is spending time with my family. My husband and I are blessed with three sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two precious granddaughters who keep us smiling. When I'm not at school, you'll often find me cheering from the stands at baseball fields across Texas or enjoying every opportunity to be "Gigi" to my grandbabies.

I believe that strong partnerships between home and school are the foundation of student success. It is a privilege to partner with our Adelton families as we work together to provide every child with a safe, engaging, and high-quality educational experience. I look forward to another incredible year of learning, growth, and success as we continue building something special at Adelton Elementary.
